TREY provides development cooperation that is rewarding for both the student union members and the cooperation organisations. The volunteer students in the development cooperation team work for the cooperation partner and can at the same time utilize their expertise in their own field, as well as develop skills relevant in the working life.

TREY continues the Tanzania project Tamy and TTYY started in 2017, if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs grants funding for it. The Tanzania project’s aim is to improve the Dar-es-Salaam suburb’s sanitation and increase knowledge of sanitation that is ecological, sustainably implemented and safely maintained. At the end of 2017, a project working group of 22 was established, including volunteer students from Tampere University and student union operators.
