The Council of Representatives of the Tampere University Student Union met on Tuesday 19th of November last week for an autumn general meeting. In the autumn general meeting, the Council decided on next year’s Action Plan and Budget. Today, on December 3rd, the Council met in a constitutive meeting, where it elected, among others, the Chairs of the Executive Board and the Council of Representatives for 2025.
Next year’s action plan consists of six projects, which include measures to improve the everyday life of university students in Tampere and to develop the activities of the Student Union. In 2025, the focus will be on the strategic goal of inspiring and attractive activities, which is reflected in the projects of the action plan, which focus on developing the meaningfulness of volunteer activities and creating guidelines for alumni activities. The Action Plan projects address the review of the necessity of membership in OLL, the meaningfulness of volunteering, alumni activities, the association guide, county and municipal elections and the restructuring of the website. The approved budget supports and provides a framework for the implementation of the activities, and with a final balance of €0 there will be no profit or loss in 2025. The student union membership fees will remain in 65 euros for degree students and 35 euros for doctoral students.
Today, at its constitutive meeting, the Council elected its new Chairs, the members of committees subordinate to the Council, the Chair of the Students’ Union and the Executive Board for the coming year. Aino Halinen was elected as the Chair of the Council of Representatives, Lauri Lindén as First Vice Chair and Eino Suni as Second Vice Chair.
One member from each council group was selected into the Administrative Committee, and the Council elected Nina Kovanen as its Chair.
Artturi Lindeman, Saskia Simisker, Lauri Ahlqvist, Aaro Haikonen, Mikko Jaskari, Niko Kangasniemi, Ville Porkka, Aino Närhi and Arttu Timonen were elected into the Financial Affairs Committee. Onni Härkönen was elected as its chair.
The 6th year civil engineering student Laura Heino (RATTOISA), who has a long history of association activity and has served as the Minister of Culture of the Teekkari Union of Tampere this year, was elected as the Chair of the Executive Board.

I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves with the new board and I hope that in the coming year TREY will look even more cheerful and innovative as a student advocate, both on and off campus!” said Laura, the new Chair of TREY.
The board members elected for 2025 are Ina Lehtola (Kontakti), Iidalotta Heikka (Luuppi_Puolue), Aapeli Rytkönen (Kontakti), Olavi Latukka, Tami Nordström (KTT), Siiri Vähäsöyrinki, Erja Ronkainen and Sanni Tyynismaa (Hallintotieteiden liitto).
