University Democracy Week answers all these questions on 16 March – 20 March 2026 on campuses and on Instagram. We will have a whole week of university democracy and opportunities for students to have influence on social media!

Monday 16 March
University Democracy Porridges at Café Konehuone, Hervanta from 8 to 10 (AM). TREY’s Council of Representatives is also present to talk about editing TREY’s policy paper in 2026! We’ll offer 100 first attendees free porridge.
Tuesday 17 March
University Democracy Porridges at Alakuppila, city center campus from 8 to 10 (AM). TREY’s Council of Representatives is also present to talk about editing TREY’s policy paper in 2026! We’ll offer 100 first attendees free porridge.
Wednesday 18 March
Is the university still ours? A university democracy themed panel discussion at Cafe Aula Toivo at 2 PM. There will be buns, coffee and thought-provoking discussion. Taking part in discussion are member of the University Board Mikko Kanninen, doctoral researcher Paula Silven, researcher Saara Särmä, and Academic Board member Erja Ronkainen. The discussion is moderated by TREY’s vice chair Rudi Valtonen.
The panel discussion is available only in Finnish.
