Apply to be a Student Representative in University Administration for the term 2027–2028!

We are looking for student representatives, also known as hallopeds, for the Academic Board, the Education Council, the Societal Interaction Council, the Appeals Committee, and all seven Faculty Councils for the term 2027–2028. The application period is from 24 August to 13 September 2026.

The bodies decide on and monitor matters relating to the supply and structure of education, student intake, the quality of education, curricula, and the societal impact of the university. The role of the student representatives is to act as the voice of students within the university administration and to ensure that students’ interests are not overlooked in decision-making. You can fill in the application and act as a student representative in all of the bodies using either Finnish or English as your working language.

Halloped positions are suitable both for students with previous experience in advocacy work and for those who have only recently become interested in the topic. Faculty councils, for example, are an excellent place to begin a career in student advocacy, while the Academic Board is better suited for those with more extensive experience in advocacy.

Harassment contact persons’ walk-in appointments will resume after the summer break on September 8!

Are you concerned about an issue or experience related to inappropriate treatment?

TREY’s harassment contact persons will have walk in appointments every few weeks from September until December. You can come and discuss incidents of harassment or bullying, conflicts or other issues of concern with a low threshold. All discussions are confidential.

Urban Thesis Market, Tue 8 September, 11:00–14:00

Still looking for a thesis topic on urban sustainability? Come talk to people who are working on real projects related to sustainability and urban issues and leave with ideas, contacts, data, or a commissioned thesis.

How it works: we have a relaxed marketplace where you wander around, meet organizations and researchers at their stands, and chat about possible thesis collaborations. It is open to all TAU students, free, with no registration, and you just show up any time between 11 and 14.

Kotila’s Saturday Brunch for Student Families are back!

Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning where we prepare and enjoy a delicious brunch together. The activity is free of charge and intended for students with children. Please come together with your child🩷
It’s a great opportunity to enjoy good food, meet other student families and spend time together. Note that the main language of the meetings is Finnish. You are warmly welcomed even if you don’t speak Finnish but would like a safe environment to practice it.

Apply for a Student Grant from the Workers’ Educational Fund by 30 September 2026

The Workers’ Educational Fund gives out grants to those completing higher education and upper secondary education. The purpose of the grant is to enable cultural, scientific and artistic endeavours as part of or alongside studies.

When evaluating grants, special emphasis is placed on the apllicant’s hobbies, activities that promote communiality, and performance in studies. Grants are allocated to applicants under the age of 29. As a rule, one degree is supported only once.

The application period for grants for 2026 is open from 1 August to 30 September 2026.

Hey student, apply for exchange in September 1. – 21.9.2026!

September application round is approaching! Go Global!

In the September application round (1-21 September 2026), you can apply for:

– Exchange places in Europe for spring/summer 2027

– The north2north exchange programme (Nordic countries, the United Kingdom, France, North America, etc.)

– Erasmus+ internship grants for the academic year 2026-2027

For more information on grants, the application process, and exchange destinations, please visit the Student’s Guide. There you will also find a recording of the application information session, as well as information on appointment times with the staff of International Mobility Services.
