Aino Halinen has been chosen as TREY’s Specialist in Social Affairs! TREY’s Board decided on the recruitment in its meeting on 16 September 2026.
Halinen has worked in Student Union of Tampere University and in the National Union of University students in Finland as board member responsible for social policy. In addition, Halinen has been the Chair of TREY’s Council of Representatives. Her University internship was at Guides and Scouts of Finland, focusing on peace education. Halinen is a member of Tampere City Council and Pirkanmaa County Council.
Halinen is a Bachelor of Social Sciences from social research and a master’s student in Social Policy.
“I’m excited to return to the student movement and the Student Union of Tampere! It is great to be part of TREY’s professional community and work on behalf of students of Tampere. The challenges in students livelihood, debt and housing have increased during the last few years. Working for better student life and better future for students is even more important now that the national elections are approaching. I’m eager to take on this challenging and meaningful task”, says Aino Halinen right after being chosen.
Halinen will start working as the Specialist in Social Affairs on 30th September 2026. TREY’s Specialist in Social Affairs advices and advocates on questions related to student housing and livelihood, is the specialist in advocating towards the city of Tampere and coordinates Student Unions national elections work. The job includes also organizing Student Unions sustainable development work.
