The Student Union of Tampere University is seeking three Wappu directors to join its merry bunch in organising The Biggest Wappu in Finland! The student Wappu in Tampere gathers together students from each Tampere University campus. Your work as a wappu director will be led by TREY’s Board Member who is responsible for the events, and you will work with the Wappu secretaries and the Minister of Culture of the Teekkari Union of Tampere.
The tasks of Wappu director include:
- Developing the visibility of The Biggest Wappu in Finland
- Planning and organising of TREY’s Wappu events, such as e.g. Wappu Revelation and the Oath of Wappu
- Coordinating the Teemu Tour (a two-week event tour for us students) and the events calendar
- Event marketing and communications
- Cooperation with the Teekkari Union of Tampere and other student organisations, as well as other partners
- Reporting after Wappu
The qualities we expect from candidates:
- Can-do attitude
- Ability to perform in public as well as good written and oral language skills
- Ideas for developing The Biggest Wappu in Finland and interest in advancing the communality between the campuses
- Student-mindedness and team spirit
- Interest towards remote or hybrid event organizing
- Being a self-starter
- University studies
- Fluency in Finnish or English, and basic skills in the other
In addition, you will benefit from the following:
- Prior experience in organising events
- Experience in working with graphics software such as Adobe InDesign
- Experience in photography or videography, writing, directing, or video and image editing
- A driving licence (Class B)
