The Student Union of Tampere University is seeking three Wappu directors to join its merry bunch in organising The Biggest Wappu in Finland 2024! The student Wappu in Tampere gathers together students from each Tampere University campus. The largest Wappu in Finland is organized by the Wappu team, which consists of TREY’s Wappu directors, event responsibles of the board and the Teekkari Union of Tampere minister of culture and Wappu secretaries. The Student Wappu of Tampere gathers together students from all campuses of the Tampere Universities. Your work as a wappu director will be led by TREY’s Board Members who are responsible for the events.
The tasks of Wappu director include:
- Developing the visibility of The Biggest Wappu in Finland
- Planning and organising of TREY’s Wappu events, such as e.g. Wappu Revelation and the Oath of Wappu
- Coordinating the Teemu Tour (a more than two-week event tour for us students) and the events calendar
- Event marketing and communications
- Cooperation with the Teekkari Union of Tampere and other student organisations, as well as other partners
- Reporting after Wappu
The qualities we expect from candidates:
- Sturdy grip and can-do attitude
- Student-mindedness and team spirit
- Ability to perform in public as well as good written and oral language skills
- Ideas for developing The Biggest Wappu in Finland and interest in advancing the communality between the campuses
- Organizational ability and systematicness
- Being a self-starter
- University studies
- Fluency in Finnish or English, and good skills in the other as well
In addition, you will benefit from the following:
- Prior experience in organising events
- Knowledge about the student community at Tampere University
- Experience in working with graphics software such as Adobe InDesign
- Experience in video editing with video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro
- Experience in taking photos and videos
- A driving licence (Class B)
