TREY’s Newcomers’ Orienteering 2025 is soon upon us! Newcomers’ Orienteering is a checkpoint tour that takes over the whole Tampere city centre in the beginning of the academic year. The tour is held on Wednesday 27 August 2025 from 3 p.m. (15:00) to 9 p.m. (21:00), and we expect to have approximately 1500 participants who will be divided into five separate routes of 300 participants. The event allows you, our associations, to introduce yourselves to our pool of new degree and exchange students.
The criteria for the checkpoint
The checkpoint is hosted by an association operating within TREY
The checkpoint is possible to perform in a team of three to five people
The checkpoint is possible to perform in 10 minutes
The checkpoint is possible to perform alcohol-free
The checkpoint follows TREY’s equality plan and the principles for a safer space
The checkpoint is possible to perform in Finnish and in English
Checkpoint hosts are expected to pick up a checkpoint kit from one of TREY’s Service Offices prior to the event

The final deadline for signing up is on Friday August 8, 2025 at 11:59 p.m (23:59). Note that if there are notably more sign-ups than locations for checkpoints, we reserve the right to prioritize earlier sign-ups.
