The Student Union of Tampere University is seeking three Wappu
directors to join its merry bunch in organising The Biggest Wappu in
Finland 2025! The Biggest Wappu in Finland is organised by a Wappu
team, which consists of TREY’s Wappu directors, events organisers, as
well as wappu secretaries and the Minister of Culture of the Teekkari
Union of Tampere. The student Wappu in Tampere gathers together
students from each Tampere University campus. The work of Wappu
directors will be guided by TREY’s events organisers.
The work starts at the turn of January and February and ends in May
with the writing of reports. Please note that the work is particularly
intense and demands a lot of attention in the period from March to
April, and especially during Wappu. The post is meant for the
students of Tampere University.
The tasks of Wappu directors include:
● Planning and organising the Student Union’s wappu events and
wappu events organised in collaboration with the Teekkari
Union of Tampere, such as the Wappu Revelation and the Oath
of Wappu
● Coordinating the Teemu Tour (a more than two-week event
tour for us students) and the events calendar
● Event marketing and communications
● Cooperation with the Teekkari Union of Tampere and other
student organisations, as well as other partners
● Further development of the Biggest Wappu in Finland
● Final reports after Wappu
The qualities we expect from candidates:
● Firmness and a can-do attitude
● Student-mindedness and team spirit
● Ability to perform in public as well as good written and oral
language skills
● Ideas for developing The Biggest Wappu in Finland and interest
in advancing the communality between the campuses
● Ability to organise things and work methodically
● Being a self-starter
● Fluency in either Finnish or English
● In addition, a good knowledge of the other language mentioned
above
● Prior experience in organising events
● Ability to commit to the work, especially during March and April
In addition, you will benefit from the following:
● Knowledge about the student community at Tampere University
● Experience in working with graphics software such as Adobe
InDesign
● Experience in video editing with video editing software such as
Adobe Premier Pro
● Experience in taking photos and videos
● A driving licence (Class B)
