TREY’s Board has selected Ida Ylimyllymaa, Rosa Rautiainen ja Ella Kröger as Wappu directors! The most significant tasks of Wappu directors are the planning and organising of the Student Union’s wappu events and those organised in cooperation with the Teekkari Union of Tampere alongside coordinating the Teemutour and the events calendar. The Board appointed the Wappu directors at their meeting on 18 December 2025. The Wappu directors have started their work!
“The Wappu hype is building up. It’s a really great thing that the team was selected as early as last year, and we were able to dive into organizing Wappu at full speed right from the beginning of the year. With this group together with the Teekkari Union of Tampere, a memorable Wappu is sure to be achieved!”, says Kuura Ahola, TREY’s Board member in charge of events this year.
Rosa Rautiainen, 24, is a 5th year student of lifelong learning and education. She looks forward to tight cooperation and fun moments with the Wappu team, as well as an interdisciplinary Wappu. “There are many favourite Wappu memories to choose from. During my own fresher Wappu in 2022, I got to experience how communal the Biggest Wappu in Finland really is, and it is so cool!”, Rosa describes her favourite Wappu memory.
Ella Kröger, 27, is in her 4th year in logopedics. “I am most looking forward to meeting Wappu-goers! In general, I’m also excited to experience the Wappu vibes and it’s a great thing that we get to have that already while working! I can’t wait to work with our top team and getting to build Wappu!”, praises Ella. Ella’s favourite Wappu memory is her first fresher Wappu spent in Tampere: “It was the first time I took part in the Teemutour and achieved the Emäteemu title. The happy mood of Wappu really stuck to me; how everyone was friends with each other and eventgoers were celebrating come rain or sunshine.”
Ida Ylimyllymaa, 25, is studying literature for the sixth year. Ida looks forward to working and experiencing moments of success together with the lovely interdisciplinary team. “And in addition, getting to make the Wappu video, and seeing everyone’s joy during Wappu!” As her favourite Wappu memory, Ida names the Wappu of 2022, which was her first proper student Wappu. “I have carried it with me as such a good memory that it has led me to becoming a Wappu director myself. Special mention to the unforgettable Liskojen yö -event from 2021!”, Ida states.
