TREY is now introducing the association portal JIPPO!

TREY is now introducing the association portal JIPPO, through which associations operating within TREY can apply for operational grants from the student union. The application period for this year’s operational grants is open until 5.5.2025, and you can read more about it in its own announcement.

A naming competition for the association portal was held in March, garnering 60 name suggestions in total. JIPPO was chosen as the association portal’s name, as it stems from the Finnish words Järjestöjen ItsePalveluPOrtaali (Associations Self-service Portal). The winner of the naming competition, Pyry Lehtinen, described their suggestion as follows: “In Finnish, Jippo is slang for a cool trick which using the portal will feel like with all the association services neatly in one place.”. The Associations and Communications sectors chose the name from the submitted name suggestions. The portal’s official name is TREY’s association portal JIPPO.

The association portal’s development will be continued in collaboration with its developer Futurice, and the goal is that in the future project grant applications, internationalisation and culture grant applications alongside association status applications would also be done through the association portal.

At this stage, only operational grants can be applied for through JIPPO. Operational grants can only be applied for by associations who have submitted the 2025 association status application. Therefore, association portal user profiles have been created based on the associations’ status applications submitted in the beginning of the year. The user profile information has been emailed to the contact persons indicated by the associations. For other associations operating within TREY, user profiles will be created at a later date after the application period for the operational grants.

The invitation link sent to associations to begin creating a user profile to JIPPO looks like this. The link expires in 7 days and works only once.

If your association has not received information about your user profile or has problems with the portal system, please contact jarjesto@trey.fi with the email topic JIPPO. If you encounter issues while using JIPPO, there is a “bug report” button in the bottom right corner of the portal. Feedback submitted there goes directly to the system developers. All feedback — both to the developers and to TREY — is important so that we can make the service as useful for your associations as possible.
