The Student Union Magazine of Tampere University has its name!

Student Union of Tampere’s newly founded student media has its name, Visiiri! The translates to visor.

The name contest we organised in the spring gathered over 50 suggestions. The winner was a proposition from Maria Jussila who studies administrative sciences and social work in Tampere University. Jussila describes the visors purpose as protecting the wearer, in this purpose a student, from outside threats.

The preparation work for the new student media in Tampere began in March, when Aapo Laakso was hired as Editor-in-Chief. Later in spring the editorial staff was filled with art director Pauliina Lindell, who began her work in designing the magazines look. An editorial intern begins their work in autumn.

The first Visiiri-magazine is published on monday 7 of September. In addition to the printed magazine the online version of the magazine will also be launched. Follow Visiiri on social media @visiirilehti.

The printed media publishes six times per year and the magazine is paid for by the Student Union of Tampere University.More info:
