Our office secretary Paula Nykänen is retiring today! She started as the office assistant at The Student Union of Tampere University of Technology in 1990. Since then, she has brought joy and served teekkaris and other students on the Hervanta campus service desk, now widely known as Paula’s Desk. As the office secretary, Paula has been responsible for the student union’s member services and has been one of the most recognizable faces in the students’ everyday lives. Due to her long career, Paula has a unique position among the teekkari community of Tampere. She has received notable recognitions such as the title of Kunniateekkari and multiple awards from student organizations.
”Paula’s work has been irreplaceable for students in Tampere, especially for teekkaris, the Student Union throughout all these years. Paula is an important member of this community and we will assuredly be seeing her at student events in the future. We wish her a happy and fulfilling retirement!”, states TREY’s Secretary General Venla Monter.
Nykänen has received an overcoat made out of all the teekkari guilds’ overalls.
