Ville Jäppinen has been chosen as TREY’s Specialist in Educational Affairs and International Affairs! TREY’s Board decided on the recruitment in its meeting on 19 March 2025.
Jäppinen has contributed to educational affairs and international affairs in several positions in the student movement: he has served as the Executive Director of Students at Risk Finland ry, as the Specialist in Students Affairs in the Student Union of the University of Lapland, as well as on the boards of the National Union of University Students in Finland and the Student Union of Tampere University. Jäppinen is a Master of Arts.
“The vibes in Tampere are great! The Student Union has many ideas and desires to influence national and international affairs. It’s nice to get to work with an enthusiastic and dedicated group of people!”, Jäppinen rejoices about his new position. “And for the avid commuters: I’m going to cycle a lot between the city centre and Hervanta. Welcome to join me!”
Jäppinen will take up the position at the beginning of April. In the Student Union, the Specialist in Educational Affairs and International Affairs is responsible for advocacy work related to themes such as free education, bilingualism at the university and the integration of international students. In addition, the position includes the development of advocacy and cooperations related to educational affairs and international affairs, as well as student counselling on educational affairs, internationalisation and study conditions of foreign students.
