The First-ever Tampere Torisits will take place on 14.6.2025! We welcome you to experience an unforgettable summer night at Tampere Torisits at Keskustori Central Square, where the singing is thunderous and sitsing folk fill the town square!
Torisits will bring visibility to the lively student culture at the Keskustori Central Square of Tampere. Students from all campuses of Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences gather together in a multidisciplinary spirit – everyone is welcome: teekkarit, humanists, applied sciences students, freshers, year N students and alumni. The first open space Torisits of Tampere are unparalleled experience where you get to celebrate the higher education students’ community!
Event tickets can be purchased through student organizations. Individual Torisits tickets will go on sale via Kide.app on 19 May for 7 €.
Sits are an academic celebration that includes a three-course dinner, speeches, greetings, songs and student atmosphere. To locals and travellers, Torisits will present living student culture at its best. As the sits are taking place at a prime location, the Keskustori Central Square in an open space, they are a spectacle which anyone can view from the sidelines and even sing-along to familiar sits songs.
As event participation is also possible in a wheelchair, for example, we kindly ask you to state this when purchasing your ticket. If you need special accessibility arrangements, please notify the organiser beforehand via the ticket purchase form, so we will arrange an accessible toilet during the event, for example.
We follow the principles for a safe space in the event. The event is harassment free. If you encounter harassment, bullying or inappropriate behaviour of any kind, you can contact TREY’s harassment contact persons through hairinta@trey.fi. Harassment contact persons can also be reached via this Microsoft Forms contact form.

Instructions to Sitsing
- We will sing joint songs led by the lukkarit, or the song leaders. Singing your own songs is more than allowed, even welcome, but we request everyone to refrain from singing during speeches, performances, and joint songs, as is good manners and to take others into consideration in song and lyric choices!
- The event is supposed to entertain the passerby with its soundscape and visuals, so let’s paint a good picture of academic sits and the student culture together!
Instructions for attendees
- Dress code: summery (weather appropriate) clothing, overalls, graduate cap or teekkari cap.
- Tables, benches, drinking water, porta potties, rubbish bins and song pamphlets and the event’s overall badges will be available at the event venue.
- Each sits attendee/group will acquire the drinks and food of their choice to quench their thirst and satisfy their culinary tastes.
- You can decorate your group’s table if you so wish.
- Keep the tables clean – using tablecloths is recommended! In order for the tables to be in good condition post-event, please wipe down your tables after the sits. Cleaning cloths are provided at the event!
- Each sits attendee will take care of their own and their buddy’s rubbish, so it ends up in the rubbish bins found at the Central Square.
- If you smoke, only do so at the marked smoking area.
- The Central Square is located under the open sky, so rain or strong winds may cause additional challenges to sitsing. If it happens to rain, refrain from using umbrellas in favour of raincoats!
- Look after your belongings and do not leave your bags or other valuables unsupervised.
