Apply to TREY’s Board 2022!

The search for TREY’s Executive Board 2022 is happening now! Apply to help our community recover from the pandemic and to influence student-related issues! The Board members manage the student union’s day-to-day activities with the student union’s specialists from TREY’s office in Hervanta. In addition to managing the day-to-day work and activities of the responsibility sectors, the Board carries out long-term student advocacy, represents the Student Union and is responsible for implementing the Action Plan.

Each member of the Executive Board is responsible for activities in one or more sectors. There are several sectors in the Student Union, including academic affairs, social welfare affairs, international affairs, organisational affairs, events, sports, corporate cooperation, development cooperation, environmental affairs, communication as well as municipal politics. The Board members work in collaboration with the Student Union’s Specialists. Despite the sector division, the members of the Executive Board work closely with each other and develop the Student Union.

You can apply to the Board via this Jotform. Attached to the application form, you can submit other application materials like an introduction video or flyer, but these are not required from applicants.

The application form can be filled until 31 October. It is possible to apply in the Council’s meeting on 25 November as well, but please notice that the Council will get to know you better if you fill the form and take part in the application events.

Apply to the working groups operating under TREY’s Council of Representatives for 2022!

TREY is looking for members to join the Committee for Financial Affairs, Central Election Committee and Editorial Board for 2022. We are also looking for members to join the Student Union’s Strategy Committee (also known as a Strategy Group).

In these working groups that operate under the Council of Representatives, you can get to familiarize yourself with the student union’s operations and finances, make preparations for the council elections, make decisions concerning the student union magazine Visiiri or participate in the preparation of TREY’s new strategy. The application period is from 18 to 31 October. The Executive Board of TREY handles the applications and makes a proposal on selected members to the Council of Representatives. The council appoints the new members to working groups in its meeting on 24 November 2021.

All members of the working groups are expected to actively participate in the group’s operations and to be present in meetings. The groups hold meetings when needed, not more than once a month during the semester.

Presenting the Committees

The Committee for Financial Affairs is a specialist working group operating under the Council of Representatives. The committee gives out statements to the council or the board about its area of expertise when needed. The Committee for Financial Affairs handles things with the student union’s financial affairs, business activities, and ownership of property and real estate. The Committee for Financial Affairs is looking for 3-10 members, one of whom will be elected as chairperson. Applications for The Committee for Financial Affairs can be submitted by members of the Student Union or, for example, by alumni of the Student Union.

The Central Election Committee operates under the Council of Representatives, and it works in accordance with the Election Rule. The committee makes decisions concerning the organising of the student union’s council elections and oversees the execution of the elections. The Central Election Committee is looking for seven members and deputy members, one of whom will be elected chairman. The members of the Central Election Committee must be members of the Student Union.

The Editorial Board is a working group operating under the Council of Representatives that has the decision-making authority on some matters concerning the student union magazine Visiiri. The special task of the Editorial Board is to follow closely the operations of the magazine and to discuss with its editor-in-chief its contents, place of print, publishing platform and purchases. In addition, the editorial board participates in budgeting with the editor-in-chief. The Editorial Board is looking for five members, at least two of whom must be members of the Student Union. The Editorial Board will elect its own chairperson from among its members.

The Strategy Committee a new Committee that operates under the Council of Representatives. The term of office of the Strategy Committee is the year 2022. The special task of The Strategy Committee is to steer the preparation of the new strategy of TREY. The Strategy Committee is also known as a Strategy Group. The Strategy Committee is looking for two members.
