The prolonged pandemic situation has hit students hard and put us in a completely new situation where everything happens remotely, and many people study only alone in their apartments. To map students’ experiences, TREY did a coronavirus survey that was open from 20 April to 16 May. The survey was aimed at degree students, exchange students and doctoral students at Tampere University. We got 1313 answers to the survey.
The survey consisted of eight categories: University’s coronavirus regulations, campus restaurants, student associations, health and well-being, income, remote learning, course arrangements and support, contact teaching and international aspects.
This survey was a follow-up to the autumn 2020 survey. You can read more about the results of the previous coronavirus survey here.
From the results of the survey, it can be concluded that the corona pandemic has had a significant impact on students’ well-being and studies. Recovering from corona time will require a lot of work and these results will provide a good direction for what kind of advocacy work TREY should do and what actions would best support students. This work will be done in co-operation with e.g. With the University of Tampere, FSHS, the City of Tampere, student restaurants and the student community.
