Welcome to celebrate Finnish Independence Day on the 6th of December with the Independence Day Torchlight Procession. Procession is organized by TREY and the Tupsula clan, and it has become a traditional way of celebrating Independence Day. We welcome all the students to join in!🌟
We’ll gather at the city center campus (Kalevantie 4) in front of the main building at 3 PM. During the procession we will lay a wreath at the Kalevankangas cemetery and the procession will finish at the Frenckell square, where we’ll enjoy a program organised by the city of Tampere at 5 PM. 🕯
For procession, we will form up in rows of four. The dress code is dark clothing, as well as your student or teekkari cap. No overalls for this event.🎩
There will be unique fuksi points for this event! We will give out both Tupsula and TREY stamps, so if you are aiming to become a superfuksi, we recommend you to take the Tupsula stamp just in case.💫
The event is not accessible. The procession route includes both uphill and downhill sections as well as stairs. The procession will follow this route: Kalevantie – Hautausmaankatu – Kalevankangas cemetery – Hautausmaankatu – Kalevantie – Vuolteenkatu – beside Ratina Stadium – Laukonsilta – Aleksis Kiven katu – Frenckell square.
