The Council of Representatives is the highest decision-making body in the student union. The 49 members of the council are elected every two years in the representative elections. The Council of Representatives appoints the student union’s Executive Board and decides on TREY’s policy outlines, such as strategy, budget and plan of action. All TREY’s members have the right to be present in the council meetings. In the elections, every student union member enrolled as present has the right to vote and stand for election. In addition, student union members have the right to make initiatives to the Council of Representatives or the Executive Board. The Chair of the Council of Representatives for 2026 is Alex Siira (Vihreä lista), the first vice chair is Aurora Kuusisto (Kontakti) and the second vice chair is Jan Windia (Kyltyrböndet).
The council usually meets once a month, typically in a lecture room at one of the university campuses. The council contains several council groups, and discussions at the meetings are lively. The meetings usually start at 16.15 and the place of each meeting is announced in the notice of meeting.
