The Council of Representatives is the highest decision-making body in the student union. The Council decides (among other things) on strategy, budget and action plan for the student union, and other policy outlines.
The Council’s 49 members and their supplementary members are elected every two years in the representative elections.
Next representative elections are held in November 2020.
Candidacy announcement begins on August 3rd and ends on September 24th. Electoral documents are available on their own page on our website and from the student union’s service offices beginning on August 3rd.
Advance voting takes place from October 28th to October 30th. Official polling takes place from November 2nd to November 4th. This election uses electronic voting.

In the council you can influence the operation of the student union and student culture of Tampere. The council also offers an excellent chance to gain networks and practical experience in influencing.
Any member of the student union, who has enrolled as present at the Tampere University, is eligible for candidacy. You can become a candidate by joining existing electoral alliance, creating your own electoral alliance, or announcing your candidacy outside of electoral alliances.
Influence by voting!
Any member of the Student union, who has enrolled present at the Tampere University by October 12th 2020, can vote in the election. The Council of Representatives makes decisions on many themes that impact the students’ everyday life. The Council also decides on the focus points of the Student Union’s advocacy, for example how student culture is improved, what are our member services and the Student Union’s values, and things like the Student Union magazine and development cooperation.
