Doctoral students who have joined the student union can order the student card for the price of 10 euros, which, combined with the annual registration sticker, verifies their membership status. Doctoral student members are entitled to the same student union member services as graduate students. With the student card, they will also enjoy the student benefits negotiated by the student union and Opiskelijan Tampere (Student’s Tampere). All our doctoral student members get the VR travel discount with student cards marked with VR logo (all mobile student cards and TREY student cards ordered after 1.1.2024). Unfortunately, the postgraduate student card does not entitle you to travel discount by Matkahuolto or Kela’s student meal discounts. However, most of the student benefits listed on our page are available also with the postgraduate student card. The card also works as a library card in the university library where it can be activated. Postgraduate student card does not contain access chip, the postgraduate students will receive a separate access card to University!
Postgraduate students have access to SportUni services for the same price as Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students.
You can read more info on doctoral student membership on the Doctoral students -page.
If you lose a student card that also functions as an access key, you must notify the nearest info desk immediately. You should also close your library card by visiting the library or contacting them 0294520900 or via e-mail kirjasto@tuni.fi.
If you lose your student card during the summer, when the card order isn’t available, we recommend using mobile student card. You can ask for temporary access card from the University’s info desks.
Sometimes when ordering a student card student’s name might show incorrectly in the ordering system. This happens if you are using an automatic translation (Google translate etc) on the website. This does not affect the actual card order at all, so you can proceed with the card order normally and your name will be correct in the end result.
If you’ve made a incorrect card order by accident, please contact help@trey.fi. If the card hasn’t been made yet, we can cancel the card order and refund you the 10 euros you’ve paid. If the card has already been manufactured then we can not unfortunately make refunds.
